Kira found Hope Rising Farm in 2024 and began riding horses as a participant in the Therapeutic Riding program. The farm quickly became a safe and special place and she discovered a big love and connection with the animals here. Soon after her start at the farm, Kira jumped in as a Volunteer, working with all of the animals, doing barn chores, side walking, horse leading, and helping facilitate lessons with other participants. Kira is also a Kindergarten teacher. Being immersed in the environment of Hope Rising Farm, she has developed a special interest in working with therapeutic animals in educational settings. This led to a new, exciting role as the Education Coordinator for Hope Rising Farm’s Educational Discovery Center. Branching connections between local schools, the students, and our farm. Most recently, Kira joined the Board and is excited to keep learning and growing alongside Hope Rising Farm. Outside of the farm, she is also training as a Therapy Dog Team with her puppy, Tully.
