Rowan
Hi, my name is Rowan. I was born in 2007. I am a pretty cool chestnut/white Pinto gelding (male). I am 15.3 hands (5’ 3”) tall. I joined Hope Rising Farm in August of 2024, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I then transitioned into a therapeutic riding horse a few months after arriving at the Farm.
I was a bit of a scaredy-cat at first, but everyone has been super gentle, loving and patient with me. My mom who adopted me in October of 2024 didn’t know what she was getting herself into, haha. I still act a little silly and get jumpy sometimes, but I’m learning to be more trustful of these crazy humans that take care of me. I had some traumatic things happen to me before coming to Hope Rising Farm.
I tried making new friends with a mini named Kevin, but boy he didn’t like me. He chased me all over the paddock. Then I tried to go out with 2 horses named Jack and Freckles. That didn’t work out either. Jack didn’t want me next to Freckles so he would chase me all over. One day I met the girls and we became fast friends. I found my herd!!! Now I’m living my best life.
I enjoy it when my mom takes me out on a trail ride especially with my friends Tava and LuLu, two of my pasture mates. We always have a great time and we’re never too proud to be a little goofy and show our playful sides. Sometimes we act like little kids and want to go fast, but they don’t always let us. I’m grateful to be a part of the Hope Rising Farm
