Hi! My name is Cadillac Jack, but you can call me Jack. I was born in 1997 on Cinco de Mayo. I am 16 hands (5’4”) tall. I am a paint. I had a pretty exciting life. I was a lead pony in the 2003 Kentucky derby leading Eye of the Tiger who came in fifth place. I worked with young horses in the round pen. I tracked cattle in a roping arena, and I dabbled in schooling horse shows.
My mom purchased me in 2005. She has done some natural horsemanship clinics with me and I learned a whole lot. Mostly I was a trail horse. I love the wide open spaces.
I came to Hope Rising Farm in July 2022 where my mom volunteers. I didn’t really do too much the first year I was there. I was the new kid in the barn and needed some time to adjust being in a new home. Boy I was really scared of PeanutButter and Bubba (the goats) when I first got there. I would shake and shake every time they got close to me. I like them now. PeanutButter never gave up trying to be my friend. He comes into my stall and we share hay.
In the spring of 2023 my mom decided it was time I tried my hooves at being a therapeutic riding horse. I made my debut and now I’m a proud member of the team.
